Heroes can have up to 2 Trinkets and 1 Weapon equipped. They carry their own personal Gold stash. Each hero's Backpack is not limited on how many Trinkets, Weapons, or how much Gold it can store.
Worth something back in town. Move on to its hex (with any movement type) to pick it up. Gold is owned by the Hero that picked it up and isn't shared with the rest of the team unless you send it to them via the town Post Office. Trinkets and Weapons can also be sold for Gold. However, Trinkets are needed for Town upgrades so do not sell them before any associated upgrades are complete.
Individual heroes can buy meals from the tavern. Meals will give a buff to that hero for the next mission and then it is consumed. Available meals are randomized from the tavern between missions.

Pide Pinwell: If you are adjacent to another hero at the start of you turn, gain 1 strength.
Chef's Choice: If your target has a debuff when you attack, a hero or ally adjacent to you gains a random buff.
Pearl Snout Cookes: If you are adjacent to another hero at the end of your turn, gain shield 1.
